Your first stop will be the Palenque Archaeological Zone, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will walk among temples emerging from the jungle and receive a fascinating guided explanation about the Maya worldview, their rituals, and the mysteries surrounding Pakal, their famous ruler. Don’t forget your camera to capture the monumentality of the Temple of the Inscriptions and the elegance of the Palace.
